Never Ending Snow

Who would have thought we would get more snow after 21 inches!  It snowed 4 more inches today, and if the weatherman's prediction is right we could get 12 more before Wednesday night....this is madness!!!!  However, the girls absolutely love it:)

The Snow Fort

Well, when you have 21 inches of snow and you can't go anywhere....you build a snow fort with your dad.  The girls had a lot of fun building a snow fort with Jimmy today--they made it big enough that they could both get in it:)  It is great to see pure children's joy on their faces and in their voices!
Lulu looks like a tiger pouncing for food as she tries to run over the snow!!

As I thought the drive way was not clear enough for us!  We thought we would make a quick trip to Atwoods this morning to get Jimmy some snow gear to shovel snow tomorrow--boy were we wrong.  We got stuck about 1/2 way down the drive way and it took Jimmy all morning to get it out.

Alexis is feeling better now, and she got to go out and play for a while.

Thanks to mother nature we have had a chance to experience a blizzard that delivered 21 inches of snow.  We were all out of school/work today, and they have already canceled for tomorrow.  The girls think it is absolutely great, but I am not so sure.

Some of the snow drifts were taller than Ansley, but she thought it was fun for us to put her in them to see how far they came up.  Alexis was sick so she did not get to go out and play today, but hopefully she will feel better tomorrow.

Jimmy and his dad spent about an hour trying to plow the drive way so we could leave if we need to, but I think they are going to need to do it again tomorrow.

Snow Babies

Well, the girls have had their first Oklahoma snow, and I have enjoyed my first snow day! They are not happy that it was less snow than Georgia got.  We only got about one inch, but they still enjoyed playing it.  They are very upset that it has snowed twice in Georgia since we moved...but I am sure they will get another chance in the near future to see more!!  Alexis has taught Ansley to look for ice sickles under the cars and they just love it; I tried to tell them that was gross but they just won't listen.  Their new snow boots from my mom came in great handy the past few days.  (They wear them to school and then change into other shoes.) I feel like they are growing up right before my eyes!

Alexis tried to teach Ansley how to ride her bike without training wheels today. It was only 41 degrees outside...a little too cold for me to be outside but they had a blast. Ansley loves her new bike and is trying really hard to learn how to ride without the training wheels. It is so nice to see her big sister trying to help her.

Christmas was very different this year. We adjusted well to celebrating Christmas in Oklahoma. The girls had a lot of fun. Ansley and Alexis could not believe that Georgia had a white Christmas and we did not.
We went to a candlelight service Christmas eve night and Ansley fell asleep before we got home. She slept right through the Night Before Christmas Story.
The girls really enjoyed playing with their cousins. Ansley got some walkie talkies and it has been funny listening to them play on them. Jimmy has been learning the ten codes for the police department and now the girls are using them on the walkie talkies. Jimmy and his brothers enjoyed playing with three remote helicopters. They crashed into to everything, including us, but it was very entertaining for everyone.
I hope everyone had a great Christmas and we missed celebrating with all of our family. It is crazy how things have changed so much in the past two years, and I thank God everyday for my wonderful family and the support we provide for each other.
